Those who have been summoned for District Court Jury Service on Monday, January 5, 2026, will NEED to appear at 9:00 a.m. at the Courthouse, 109 North LaGrange, Hallettsville, Texas.  You will need to enter the courthouse through the basement/ North Entrance. Please arrive early and have your Jury Summons filled out before you arrive. You may call the District Clerk's office at 361-798-2351 with any questions. Thank you.

 

The Lavaca County Clerk’s Office will be closed January 9, 2025, to perform computer software updates.

  • Property tax rates in County of Lavaca. This notice concerns the 2025 property tax rates for County of Lavaca. This notice provides information about two tax rates used in adopting the current tax year's tax rate. The no-new-revenue tax rate would Impose the same amount of taxes as last year if you compare properties taxed in both years. In most cases, the voter-approval tax rate is the highest tax rate a taxing unit can adopt without holding an election. In each case, these rates are calculated by dividing the total amount of taxes by the current taxable value with adjustments as required by state law. The rates are given per $100 of property value.

    This year's no-new-revenue tax rate $0.5124/$100
    This year's voter-approval tax rate $0.5497/$100
